Hi,
I wanted to show you a little bit about why we developed our summertime checking out program.
For me, it was because of my trainees.
For many years of teaching in my private learning center, moms and dads would bring their children to me that were behind in reading and spelling.

Often they were just a bit behind, sometimes they were method behind, and often they were at grade level and simply wanted to advance quicker.
In some cases this was due to the fact that the trainees had discovering problems like dyslexia and ADHD. Other times, this was simply because the teachers did not teach all of the specific abilities required to check out.
There is a science-proven, step-by-step manner in which all kids can be successful with reading. But, sadly, teachers themselves often are not taught how to teach kids in this way.

The issue was that I was only able to see them for an hour at a time and only two times a week.
How could I reading program with spelling and phonics Cleveland - OH state get these trainees' abilities up while not just offering a band-aid option?
Conventional tutors frequently just work on homework. This does not resolve the root cause of students' problems and does not really get their skills up.
I went to the research study and what I learned from my mentors in my early years of teaching.
I discovered that brief activities often produce much better results than long labored work.
I found that teaching in a systematic and structured method to target each area of reading and spelling worked.

I found that short day-to-day fluency practice helps all students check out much faster, more properly, and naturally enhances their understanding skills.
I found that using graphic organizers assists students discover the main idea and information, series occasions, and arrange their ideas to enhance their comprehension. Students could finally comprehend and envision what they check out.

I found that many words in English follow 8 specific spelling patterns and when you find out the patterns, spelling ends up being easier and spelling finally makes sense.
I found that brain-body activities enhance neuroplasticity and translate to making discovering simpler in all locations.
I discovered that executive function abilities were typically not taught in school. These skills are so important, not just with preparing for school jobs but in life.

I found that mentor through our senses (hearing, seeing, and doing) enhanced their reading and spelling skills much faster. It did not matter if they had learning challenges or if they were just merely aiming to advance much faster.
I create a program of these findings into brief 5-20 minute everyday activities that I might do with my trainees.
It wasn't long before my students and parents began seeing tremendous outcomes. Trainees that were behind by 1-2 years often got up to grade level in 2-4 months.
Educators started to ask what I was finishing with these kids. Parents needed to know what the magic sauce was.
I knew I needed to make my program available to more trainees no matter where they live. I needed to make the program in a way that parents can do it with their kids on their schedule in the house.
This is why I established the summertime reading program.
