I wished to show you a little bit about why we created our summer reading program.
For me, it was due to the fact that of my trainees.

Sometimes they were just a bit behind, in some cases they were way behind, and often they were at grade level and just wished to progress quicker.
In some cases this was since the students had learning difficulties like dyslexia and ADHD. Other times, this was just since the instructors did not teach all of the specific abilities needed to check out.

The program does take some involvement from a moms and dad for grades K-2, but for grades 3-8, a lot of kids can do most activities in the program by themselves.
